Hummingbird touches down in Mackay

Woollam Constructions and Hummingbird House founders Gabrielle and Paul Quilliam took the hospice mascot on a quick flight to Mackay to spread the word about the project! Following an ABC radio interview, the crew met with regional Mayors to establish an exciting fundraising event set to take place on May 29, 2016. Mackay Mayor Deirdre Comerford, Isaac Mayor Anne Baker and Whitsunday Mayor Jennifer Whitney all pledged their support for the construction and future longevity of the House, which will be the first children’s palliative care centre in Queensland.

While based in Brisbane, Hummingbird House will have two beds allocated to regional, rural or remote Queensland families. Woollam Constructions and Hummingbird House are very grateful to have the support of our regional partners, and look forward to a very special fundraising event in 2016!

Further details on the event will be available closer to the date.
